Gladys Berejiklian announces huge easing of coronavirus restrictions starting next FRIDAY as NSW records 17 days with zero new infections – but mandatory masks on transport is set to stay
New South Wales residents can expect significantly eased coronavirus restrictions from next week after the state went 17 days with zero new Covid-19 cases.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said on Wednesday the state had recorded no new cases of the deadly virus from more than 12,000 tests overnight.
She also announced NSW was on track to reduce the capacity restrictions for indoor venues to two square metres per person from next Friday.
Ms Berejiklian said the rule change would go ahead ‘unless something very unexpected happens’ before February 12.
