- The ‘bestycorn’ starts telling a fairy tale – but parents are not impressed by it
- They say the fairytale is inappropriate and creepy – others completely disagree
Australian mums are divided over a ‘creepy’ unicorn toy from Big W – after realising the pre-recorded ‘sayings’ aren’t just mundane chit-chat.
The Furreal ‘bestycorn’ makes over a hundred ‘happy sounds’ and reactions – but it is the snippets of fairy tale stories that have parents worried.
One mum posted a video of the talking unicorn to Facebook asking if other parents found it concerning.

The $159 unicorn isn’t small, and stands 40cm above table level, is 50cm long and weighs 1.7kg. It is recommended for children over 3
The video shows the unicorn recounting a fairy tale: ‘There was a good woman who wanted more than anything to have a child with her husband. The couple lived in a small house at the edge of an evil witch’s garden.’
‘Did anyone else find its sayings inappropriate?’ the woman asked.
Many said they did.
‘That is creepy,’ one mum agreed.
‘That’s just wrong,’ said another.
‘You would expect a child’s toy to have chit chat like ‘hi, how are you?’ said another.
Others were just shocked.
‘Holy sh*t is it saying a good woman wants nothing more than to have a child with her husband,’ one woman said.

Some believed the story was fine for children and it was completely harmless.
‘People just look too much into things these days,’ one mum said.
‘It is just a fairy tale,’ said another.
Others said the unicorn was ‘probably creepy’ but mostly hilarious.
