indexes S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened higher on Monday, as the advance in shares of Twitter and from Chinese companies listed in the United States offset concerns about the possibility of further sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
The Industry Average Dow Jones fell 18.3 points, or 0.05%, to 34,799.98 units, while the S&P 500 it was up 2.1 points, or 0.05%, at 4,547.97 units; and the Nasdaq Composite added 42.9 points, or 0.30%, to settle at 14,304.35 units at the open.
Earlier the news broke that Tesla CEO, Elon Musktook a 9.2% stake in Twitter and sent the social network’s shares up 26% in pre-open trading in US markets.
The futures of the main indices of the New York Stock Exchange began to operate this week in negative territory. The biggest drop was recorded by the technological NASDAQ mini which lost 0.17% to 14,837.75 points, followed by the S&P 500 mini which fell 0.08% to 4,535.74 points and a drop of just 0.01% for the Dow Jones mini.
